04. Trips

Imagen
This is going to be a very short post. I'm finishing packing my suitcase because in a few hours I'll be flying to spend Christmas in Spain. I hope to see many of you! Geneva is still a complicated city. Or rather, I'm still making it complicated. I need hugs very much. Very, very, very, very much. So these next few weeks, make up for it 😊 See you in a little while. Photo with Laurent, tutor, boss and friend. First familiar face I saw in Geneva - the rest of you can start getting ready -. My first trip: visit to Étienne in Aix-les-Bains. We took advantage of one of the days to hike up some peaks - I was told it was just going to be a bit of hiking -. Oliver, making the most of his first, and so far only, getaway. Enjoying a well-deserved break with a view of Mont Blanc. I couldn't resist. The autumn colours from the R2 (the CERN restaurant where I usually have lunch). And as for taking pictures of CERN, this one is from any other day, when it was still light when I lef...

04. Viajes

Imagen
No pude resistirme.

03. El Nido del Contrabandista¹

Imagen
The post you are about to read was written two months ago, but it is only now that I have been able to find the time to sit down and publish it. I sincerely apologise - Bullshit. I would do it again. I have no regrets -.  And after the storm, comes the calm (or other storms). I t's been a few weeks since I moved into my new studio. My intention was to call it La Cueva del Contrabandista ² , but given the fact that it's in an eighth floor and that I have six metres of window space, I think it's more appropriate to call it El Nido del Contrabandista  - Which, by the way, I hope will also save me intellectual property problems with Ali Baba and his 40 thieves, who must not live very far away -. The Nido, seen from the kitchen. In the photo you can see that it is a clear case of empty nest syndrome - Hahahaha. Ouch! No, Mum, not with the slipper -.  So right now I find myself furnishing my just over 30 m2. I have to be thankful that the flat has a sink and a shared...

03. El Nido del Contrabandista

Imagen
Volvería a hacerlo.

02. The CERN (First Part)

Imagen
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening - everyone reads when they want - . And hello again. I was glad to see so many of you reading the first post. One tends to forget the relatives and friends he has until it's time to buy a beer. On the plus side, from this corner of the world, there won't be many invitations to make; on the minus side, there won't be many invitations to make either. Getting down to business, today I bring you some comments on CERN, the laboratory-centre where I work - in case anyone had forgotten -. We could talk about the standard model of particles and how we are on the verge of going beyond it. That the Higgs Boson and bell-bottoms are a thing of the past, and that quantum computing is best understood between R1 pizzas with Schrödinger's hamster. But I don't want to smother you with my extensive knowledge of antimatter - it's funny because it's a joke -. I think it's more interesting to talk about other little details. In the ...
